Palm - Nextel Phones

I have a Palm T3 and bought a Nextel I870. Naturally I wanted to connect the two, but what seemed to be simple, turned out to be very difficult.
So to save you all trouble, I have summarized my experience.

How to connect the Palm to the Nextel for internet on the Palm:
We are using a Palm Tungsten T3
1. Launch the Phone Setup Program
2. Under Network Service, select "dial-up connection"
3. Select Next
4. Answer "Yes" to the GPRS question / select Next.
5. Area for service = USA
6. Carrier = Not Shown / Select Next
7. Select OK on the download updates message.
8. Select Next at the message screen about settings provided by your ISP.
9, insert "S=2" for the phone number.
10. Username = "S=2" (No spaces and do not include the quotes.)
11. do not enter a password. Leave blank.

In the case you have lost the ability to send files from you palm via bluetooth (syptom: on send nothing happens or crash [Fatal alert. Preferences.c, Line 271, Pref DB Open error]):
1. Find "Unsaved Preferences.prc"
2. Delete it
3. Soft Reset
4. Don't Panic because the digitiser set-up appears like it does after a hard reset
5. Complete the digitiser set-up
8. Test that sending now works
Notes: all savings withing unsaved preferences (some applications do this), will be lost
